Evaluation of the Indiana Reading First Program



Client: Indiana Department of Education
Term: October 2003–October 2006

The Center, in partnership with the Indiana Department of Education, is designing an evaluation plan that will identify how, why, and for whom Indiana’s Reading First Program activities are most effective and will provide this information to primary program stakeholders to facilitate program adaptation and improvement.

The evaluation examines not only the short-range effects, but also the design, intent, context, actual process, and long-range impacts experienced by the various stakeholders as a result of the program. The data collection and reporting methods include close collaboration with Indiana Department of Education leadership to ensure that the evaluation is sensitive to their needs.
