The Indiana Disproportionality Project 2002–2003: Toward Ownership, Understanding and Remediation
Client: Indiana Department of Education Term: January 1999–present
The Indiana Disproportionality Project, a collaboration of the Indiana Center for Evaluation and Education Policy, and the Indiana Department of Education Division of Exceptional Learners works to increase understanding of minority disproportionality in special education in this state. The IDP goals are to: a) describe the extent of disproportionality in Indiana, b) study variables that may increase our understanding of why minority disproportionality occurs, and c) work with local education agencies to develop strategies to address disproportionality.
