Dr. Hitchcock will deliver a keynote address ("Developing Causal Evidence using Different Research Methods: Applications in Education") during the opening session of the International Science and Technology Conference (ISTEC) in Vienna, Austria on July 13, 2016.
During the 2016 conference of the International School Psychology Association (ISPA) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Drs. Hitchcock and Patricia Muller, CEEP’s executive associate director and director of research and evaluation, will conduct a training session, Mixed Methods Research and Program Evaluation. The July 20 workshop will prepare school psychologists and other school-based mental health professionals in using mixed methods approaches when engaged in program evaluation.
Dr. Hitchcock will also participate in the presentation of three papers during the Mixed Methods International Research Association (MMIRA) Conference at Durham University in the United Kingdom, August 3–5, 2016. Dr. Hitchcock co-authored two of the papers with R. Burke Johnson, David Houchins, Anthony J. Onwuegbuzie, and Jeffrey A. Anderson—“How to conduct mixed methods research: Design and analysis with validity in special education” and “Using mixed methods to handle complexities in special education research: Promoting methodological innovation.” The third paper, “Using mixed methods for development and evaluation of culturally constructed intervention programming,” was co-written by Dr. Hitchcock with Bonnie Nastasi.
