The Comparative and International Education Society annual conference was held in Vancouver, Canada on March 6-10, 2016. CEEP evaluation coordinator LeeAnn Sell and graduate assistant Pooja Saxena presented “Performance on international assessments and learning time: A snapshot of how the U.S. compares to other education systems on an international scale.” Another paper, "Becoming a global university: An analysis of institutional policies aimed to internationalize university activities," was presented by Dr. Anne-Maree Ruddy, CEEP director of education policy and senior research associate, and graduate student Aaron Butler.
On February 10, at the Brown County campus of Southern State Community College, Dr. Hitchcock delivered a keynote speech along with campus administrator, J.R. Roush. The topic was "Engaging the community in international, regional, and local research practices through internships, travel, and grant-writing opportunities."
On February 17, 2016, Dr. Skiba presented testimony regarding civil rights and the school-to-prison pipeline at a public meeting hosted by the Indiana Advisory Committee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights.
