"Toward Justice: Culture, Language, and Heritage in Education Research and Praxis"
CEEP researchers presented at the annual conference of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) in Chicago. Dr. Lochmiller and CEEP research associate Dr. Colleen Chesnut presented “Preparing leaders in an era of school turnarounds: university/district partnerships.” Dr. Lochmiller, along with Dr. Jessica Lester of Indiana University School of Education and Gavin Luter of the State University of New York at Buffalo, presented “The university-assisted community schools intervention: Exploring student and parent perceptions.”
Dr. Hitchcock, along with Dr. Isadore Newman of Florida International University and Dr. Anthony Onwuegbuzie of Sam Houston State University, presented “Using the general linear model to facilitate the integration of qualitative and quantitative analysis: The potential to improve prediction and theory building and testing.” Dr. Hitchcock, along with Dr. Newman and Dr. Onwuegbuzie, presented a second paper, “Integration of thematic coding, Bayesian methodology, and the general linear model” and also conducted a roundtable session, “An array of advanced mixed-analysis approaches.”
From The Equity Project housed at CEEP, associate director Dr. Mariella Arredondo and research associate Timberly Baker presented "The 'survival' of inequity in discipline: The use of survival analysis in examining effects of types of student infraction behaviors on exclusionary discipline.”
